JOSEPH AKPALA To Sign New Contract At Club Brugge

Joseph Akpala has announced that he will extend his contract which expires at the end of next season. Before the start of the season, the 25-year-old had wanted to leave the blue army as the coach did not guarantee him playing opportunities. He started this season on the bench but soon established himself in the first team squad. Akpala is one of the reasons why Club Brugge are one of the candidates for the league diadem, with 14 goals in Belgium's topflight. ''My manager informed me that an agreement had been reached regarding the final details for a contract extension. I do not know the length of it. Our goal this season was to win a European ticket. It is always the case. But if against Anderlecht, the favorite for the title, we managed to overtake and take first place, we will not miss this opportunity,'' Akpala told nieuwsblad.be.
