KESHI hails Home based Eagles, lambastes Referee

Super Eagles head coach Steven Keshi was full of praise for his side despite loss to Egypt.Keshi blamed the referee for the loss, but rather commended the players for showing character, grit and concentration till the final whistle. “The boys did well despite the odds and there is nothing to feel sad about. To have played this well against such a top side gives cause to be satisfied,” the former Super Eagles captain told SuperSport.com. Keshi said there were positives to pick from the game; his first defeat since he took the reins of the national team on November 2, 2011. “There were a lot of positives to draw from (Thursday’s) game. I am pleased with what I saw from the boys. The future is bright for Nigerian football,”. He also added “The referee if he has a conscience, should know that he robbed us, because we had a penalty that was not given and the last goal looked questionable but like I told you I expected this type of officiating, said Keshi. Nigeria will next play Gabon in another international friendly in Libreville, as well as Peru in Lima next month.
