DR Congo arrives Abeokuta for Falconets
Democratic Republic of Congo
U-20 women arrived in
Abeokuta on Thursday for the
FIFA U-20 Women’s World
Cup qualifier against the Super
Falconets of Nigeria.
DR Congo arrived at the
Murtala Muhammed Airport
with a contingent of 25
persons,before travelling to
the Rock City by road.
Both teams are in polar position
to pick one of the two tickets
available for the World Cup
slated for Japan later in the
year.The DR Congo squad
eliminated Cameroon and also
pounded Mali,conquerors of
Equatorial Guinea,in the last
round.
Falconet's Head Coach,
Edwin Okon, however remains
confident of the team's
ability.
“We are well-prepared for
this match,” Okoh said.“Our
focus is on a good win ahead
of the second leg match in
Kinshasa”.
The match officials from
Uganda also arrived on
Thursday aboard an Ethiopian
Airline flight from Addis
Ababa.
The winner of this fixture
will qualify as one of
Africa’s two flag-bearers at
the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s
World Cup billed for Japan
in August/September.
