UCHE NWOFOR relegated to the stands
Relegation threatened Dutch club VVV
Venlo have axed Nigeria
striker Uche Nwofor for poor
form lately.He has
been relegated to the stands as
VVV battle for their top
flight existence.“Coach Ton Lokhoff has
dropped Nwofor because he
said he is not in form”,a top
source disclosed.
The 20-year-old Nwofor was
not in the squad for last
Saturday’s Dutch Eredivisie tie
at home against ADO Den
Haag, which VVV won 2-1.
However,compatriots Michael
Uchebo and Alex Nkume
featured in the fixture.
The former Enugu Rangers
star moved to VVV soon after
the 2011 FIFA U20 World
Cup in Colombia,where
Nigeria reached the last eight.
He has so far scored four
goals in 17 appearances for
the Dutch club.
However, VVV are again in
the relegation/promotion
bracket along with De
Graaschap.
Last season,they only stayed
back in the top flight after
they topped the relegation
playoffs thanks to the goals
of Ahmed Musa,who has
since moved on to Russian club
CSKA Moscow.
